Preserve your health

Good health throughout your life is the most precious asset. It is no use having all the money in the world and be failed by your health. It also determines on how good you feel.

Good health is certainly not to be taken for granted. There is a lot of cause and effect in terms of your lifestyle which determines the state of your health.

The biggest killer of all diseases that may confront you, is Cardiovascular illness (also called artery disease). The arteries in the body clog up so that it obstruct the flow of blood. This can then lead to heart attack and stroke and often comes without warning.

Other prevalent chronic illnesses which confront people in general are:

  • Cancer
  • Diabetes
  • High blood pressure (hypertension); the silent killer
  • Arthritis
  • Dementia

These are often referred to as the distant enemies becoming houseguests as you grow older.

The main causes of deteriorating health are:

  • Wrong eating habits and obesity
  • Smoking, alcohol and substance abuse
  • Ongoing high stress levels
  • Too little exercise and often a sedentary lifestyle

The important thing to keep in mind is that most of these illnesses can be prevented and the causes be removed by adopting the right lifestyle.
